Placement principles:

Internship

College Internship Program is a comprehensive transition program for young students on the Autism Spectrum and with Learning Differences

An internship provides an excellent opportunity to explore career possibilities, gain experience, develop marketable skills, and establish professional connections. In some cases, an internship can even lead to a great job.

Students of F&IS can participate in an internship. Some internships offer academic credit or pay, while others don’t. Internships during the academic year typically require eight to 16 hours of time a week, while summer internships are more likely to involve a full-time commitment for as many as 10 to 12 weeks.

NIFST shall recommend that our College students hold at least two internships during their undergraduate years. You can begin as early as freshman year and continue through your senior year.

Industrial Visit

Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree/diploma in safety career. So NIFST focus more importance for industrial tour/visit. Every year our students are attending the industrial visits as it is considered as a part of college curriculum, mainly in safety engineering. Objectives of industrial visits are to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies/factories/industries. We know, theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industrialists and know more about industrial environment.

Industrial visits are arranged by NIFST to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sectors. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge. Industrial realities are opened to the students through industrial visits.
